Is the CV Gameroom mailing list working?[Subject Thread] [Add Response]

Hello fellow Chess Variants lovers!

I'm interested in playing a few games, after a few years absence from
online play.

I submitted a few open public Game Courier invitations, but have not
received any email from the CV Gameroom mailing list about my games, or
about any other of the games currently waiting for opponents.

When I check the CV Gameroom mailing list yahoo site (below), it appears
that the last message was in 2015.

Is the CV Gameroom mailing list working?

I'm not sure. When I looked into it, I realized that I needed to change the
email address I use with it. I have verified my new email address with
Yahoo!, but I have not yet been able to tell this Yahoo! group to use my
new email. In your case, though, this website and the Yahoo! group have the
same email address on record.

Fergus,

I sent a test email to the Mailing List and it responded well (you should
have got the test email as well).

My test message is now the first email showing in the 2016 message history
for the Mailing list.

Perhaps you have an emailing issue with Chess Courier in the routines that
do the invite portion.

Is the email address you use to send emails from Chess Courier to the Yahoo
Mailing List a member of the mailing list?

Okay, I saw your message turn up in my email. Game Courier places the email
address of the person sending the invitation in the From: field. This could
explain why my recent invitations have not made it to the Yahoo! group,
since I did recently change my email address with this site, but it would
not explain why yours haven't made it there. Also, it stopped sending open
invitations months before I moved the site. So that doesn't seem to be the
cause. It's possible that Yahoo! groups just got better at detecting
spoofed email and now no longer allows it. If that is what has happened, it
has now become useless. One more test I can run, once I successfully change
the address I use with the group, is to issue an open invitation from my
account. Since my address comes from the same server that sends the email,
Yahoo might not interpret an email from my account as spoofed, and it might
get through. But I have to wait.
