I'm just wondering, for those of you who consider yourselves active
members here, how old are you? We all know Hans is in his 40s, but
that's all. What kind of age range is this group in as a whole?

Greg Strong wrote on Sun, May 29, 2005 09:47 PM UTC:
That is a good question. I am 32 myself.

Derek Nalls wrote on Sun, May 29, 2005 10:38 PM UTC:
So, how old is Jared McComb?

Greg Strong wrote on Sun, May 29, 2005 10:45 PM UTC:
I'd bet money he's older than you...

Most of our editors have their ages in their bios. I am 55, and have been
interested in chess variants for 43 years.

I am 49, and interested in Chess variants since ends of 80's. My son
Rhonan is 19 y.o., interested in c.v since when he was a child, but he is
not an active member, he is an ocasional player, but a very strong one of
some variants. My wife does not like chess neither variants, but she is
(moderately) comprehensive the most of the times with my hobbies.

I'm a 43-year-old white (Celtic-Teutonic bloodlines) American male
(born on April Fool's Day).

Interested in chess variants since the mid-80's but never achieved any
work of lasting value until appr. 2002.

Well, I seem to be still participating. I am 53 (how did that happen?).

Hey Greg, you lost your bet. ;) I'm 19. Sorry to be so late, computer
troubles.

Wow, y'all are geezers. :P

I'm 38. In a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc, my birth led to the
formation of Tangerine Dream later in the same year, the formation of Yes
a year later, and the moon landing a couple years after. But I take no
responsibility for Wings or the breakup of the Beatles. I don't know
whether there is anything to astrology, but I do find it curious that my
birthday is, if I'm remembering correctly, two days after Hans's and two
days before David's, and we're all Aries/Taurus cusp Tauruses.

Jared: 'Wow, y'all are geezers.'

Yes, but not geezers whose brains have ossified!
