Isn't it just a little too big to handle?' --Jared Edmund Hillary wrote on 2003-07-25 UTCBecause it is there! Jean-Louis Cazaux wrote on 2003-07-25 UTCExcellent ★★★★★When I wrote my book (in French) 'Guide des échecs exotiques et insolites' in 1999, I gave the rules of Tai Shogi (do you know other games book that gives those rules?), I mentioned Taikyoku Shogi as an unbelievable tale. And here it is! RJ wrote on 2004-05-17 UTCExcellent ★★★★★That is huge! Great pics. I tried the link, but since I don't understand Japanese, all I could get from it is that it looks like it's some 400$ for this set. It does seem fair considering the quantity, but who's going to play this, honestly? Sean Humby wrote on 2006-04-04 UTCExcellent ★★★★★I would!!! What a great game! Large board war games are fantastic! Taikyoku seems to have some range jumpers like in Tenjiku, so the game could come to a sudden end, as well... I just wouldnt want to put the board together every time I wanted to play... that'd take a couple hours... RJ wrote on 2007-07-27 UTCIf someone could help me figure out how to order this thing in japanese that would be great. playshogi wrote on 2008-04-18 UTCPoor ★It is too big. Larry Wheeler wrote on 2012-02-17 UTCExcellent ★★★★★This is the kind of game that I would want to spend weeks or months playing (a single game, with many adjournments; obviously requiring a lot of commitment from both players). It would be more practical to play with pieces that didn't require any memorization. Perhaps I'll eventually design such a set (and print them in 3D). 8 comments displayedEarlier ⇧Reverse Order⇩ LaterPermalink to the exact comments currently displayed.
