Here is a breakdown of moves to the third perimeter, with thhe first of
the
7 lines representing the rank furthest from the player and the last the
nearest. * represents the starting square, . an inaccessible square, # a
linemove continuing indefintely, + a single step, and @ an unblockable
Knight or Camel leap. King and Pawn are standard. I hope that it helps.

Looks interesting; how does it play? Create pieces that indicate how they move, maybe even with movement diagrams on them or an alternate piece set, ala those 'teaching' shogi pieces, and get them in a preset, and you might get a game or two going.
