Where do these beautiful graphics come from? I've never seen the 'Galatic' graphics before. Are these graphics copyrighted? What license are the graphics released under?
Thanks for your time. - Sam |
now this looks a lot better with the colors, you can tell the clans apart fairly easily .. when i get time, i'll have to test this game out now.
Good point. I got used to those piece images by playtesting and forgot that it may be a bit too hard. I've created a new piece set based on the images of the Chess clan and colored markers. If you want to use the small images, you must use the Board.zif from the original small images. You can use both piece sets with the new Clans.zif.
well this is no doubt very interesting, amazing really. sadly, using the small graphics makes it difficult to see the pieces clearly. i think, as you say, it would be good if the different clans were different colors, this would make a lot easier. it does seem a little crowded though, once you set all the kings/clans up. it could be better to make the clans not so big, i don't know. it is just difficult to test. it could even be played on smaller board, with fewer pieces, but still, i think this is a very, very good game, highly original. well done.
ok, i tried setting up again, and it is fine, i don't know what i did earlier, but as murphy says, if something can go wrong, it will, he he :) i'll check it out. (i notice not multi-player, multi-clan, 2 player game sorry)
Strange. I tested it and it worked. Maybe it has something to do with the directory structure. In the Penta directory should be the following files: Admin.zif Board.zif (Replaced with the one from small.zip) Clans.zif Moves.zif Palace.zif Penta.zrf Variants.zif Images\ (Contents completely replaced with .bmp's from small.zip) There should also a board.bmp in Small.zip\Images.
well, i am always interested in multi-player games, and this no doubt looks pretty amazing. As you say, zillions is not very good playing multi-player variants, best for all human play. now, i downloaded and set up, and yes, it is a little too big for screen, so i did as you said, and tried to set up 'smaller' verison, but though the pieces were now smaller, the board remained the same. i don't know if i did an error in setting up, but it seems to me that the board, in 'small.zip' is the same as the other one. have i done something wrong? this game could be really good, because of the piece movements, as you say, because of short range moves, you don't have to worry about pieces far away 'hitting' you.
