As the page's author I authorise editors to remove references to Power Chaturanga, a variant which has been dropped from its page.
Wouldn't it be more straightforward to simply describe the Buffalo as a piece than can, from the middle of a 7 x 7 board, get to every square that a Queen cannot? In that sense it is the 3-perimeter analogue to the Knight which can do the same thing from the middle of a 5 x 5 board. Dan Davis ddavis5499@comcast.net

I have found the error and sent a further update to correct it. Hopefully this will appear soon.
It baffles me why that happened. The diagram was fine before, and I'm sure that I didn't change that part of the HTML. Any ideas for fixing it are welcome.
Is it just my computer or is the diagram a little squooshed?
The Buffalo goes back to the enhanced Knight in Cavalry Chess (also known as Magician's Chess) designed by Frank Maus in 1921.
