Courier Chess (modified)

Hi! I've made this version of Courier Chess to play as close to the original as possible-getting rid of the "useless" pieces while keeping the Spirit of the game intact.

Setup

R H C B M K V B C H R
    P P P P P P P P P
              F
  P P P
  p p p
              f
    p p p p p p p p p
  r h c b m k v b c h r

Pieces

h,b,r,and k move as standard chess pieces.

p moves 1 square at a time; promotes to any lost piece

C (courier) jumps 1 or 2 squares diagonally

M (man) moves like the king w/o the restrictions

F (ferz) moves 1 square diagonally or 1 square backwards

V (vizier) Moves 1 or 2 squares horizontally or vertically (not jumping)

Rules

Standard chess rules apply; no castling or enpassant (of course!)

Notes

There are many mods; this one plays the closest to the original game.
The Vizier can also stay w/ it's original move (only one square hor. or vert.), but it is marginally more useful being allowed to move to the 2nd square.

Mod #2: the ferz moves 1 square diagonally or FORWARD 1 square; the Vizier moves as the King (w/o the restrictions); the Man moves as a horse, or moves to the 2nd square hor., vert., or diag. (like the Squirrel from Exotic Chess applet).

Mod #3: Ferz moves 1 square any; Vizier moves like the Squirrel, and the Man moves 1 or 2 squares any direction or combination of directions.

These have been playtested; they all have a different flavor to them, depending on how much "firepower" you feel like having! :)
