I'm interested in creating a Star Trek chess variant in which pieces can
move vertically as they typically move to-and-fro and side-to-side in 2-D
chess, more or less. In this variant, attack board squares would be next
to or between stationary board squares OF THE OPPOSITE COLOR. Thus a pawn
moving vertically would face a board situation almost directly analogous
to a pawn moving horizontally. It would go black-white-black, (or vis
versa.)
I really like the Parmen.com board display (and the Kobayashi-Maru attack
board movement protocol), but have realized that one can represent all
possible board-piece combinations and movements in 2D, without ambiguity,
which ought to be great for ZOG-Zillions-Of-Games. This needs particular
isometric view, which leaves room for every attack board position to be
seen.
I hope to create or help create a platform-independent (Java?) game that
allows play over the internet, perhaps using the Jabber protocol. I'll
need a lot of help and advice. I remember one Java script TriD chess
applet, somewhere...
