To illustrate how easy it is, I have composed several mate-in-one problems from old games. Just find a game that ended in checkmate, go back a move, and click Compose. Then make sure the winning move is the only possible winning move. If any other moves could win, just adjust the position to prevent them from being winning moves. Then click Move, enter the solution, click Compose, fill in your userid and password, then click Publish.
Okay, the banned() function now does nothing in the problem composer, and the ! at the beginning of invisible spaces gets replaced with an _ in the problem composer, allowing pieces from these spaces to be moved around normally.
I have now added the ability to publish a problem without a solution. This is useful when recreating compositions from a book whose solution is not immediately obvious. This page now has the ability to filter for solved problems, unsolved problems, and any problems.
Abbot Chess Problems 121 Problem #1 Mate in Two There is a difference in my solution and yours, basically the difference comes from the fact that the black king can take the white horse. How about Qh8h3 Kx (the horse) queen goes under black queen to checkmate ..... I forgot the page and chess places so I failed the annotation
Fergus, thanks for this new feature! - Tony

A number of questions for Fergus about possible alternative uses (if allowed) for the Game Courier Chess Variant Problems feature:
1) May chess variant endgame studies be entered (rather than just problems with mate in x moves)?
2) Similarly, may examples of chess variant endgame technique be entered (e.g. just sample variation(s), plus possible commentary, given of how archbishop and pawn(s) beats rook and equal pawn(s))?
3) Also similarly, may examples of chess variant middlegame (or opening) strategy or tactics be entered (again, just sample variation(s), plus possible commentary)?
4) If some or none of the above three is allowed, might these be supported in some other way at some point on CVP?
If nobody has published a Game Courier chess variant problem in almost 10 years maybe the editors will take notice of it and try to repurpose this feature. There are great chess variants that are not on Game Courier, such as my own Scramble that could be played against Stockfish and could generate lots of problems to be published.
Another purpose/feature would be to show updates from members' own YouTube channel/ or social media pages where they talk about chess variants and chess variants problems. This is just a suggestion but it's up to the editors to decide.

What is it you have in mind?

Game Courier has nothing to do with Stockfish, though. So, it's not clear how this ties in with what you were previously saying.

That's also unrelated to Game Courier. If members want to, they can already put information about YouTube channels or social media on their profile pages, and they can post to their profile pages to keep people up-to-date on videos or other Chess variant related things they might find interesting.

That's great! I didn't know we were allowed to do that.
Thanks.
