Game Courier allows the use of GIF images for pieces. Does it allow any customization of the board's appearance? Game Courier allows GIF, PNG, and JPG images for boards, and it can draw multiple kinds of boards. If WinBoard can use images for boards and pieces, then I would be happy to contribute some.
