Is it just me or does white in this game always have the advantage? The concept is good but, the game seems to be one sided.
Editors of chessvariants, I was curious if you received my submission on the 44 square contest. I sent this in yesterday 19APR04. sincerely Pete
Peter, I took your advice and re-submitted my new variant. Let me know if you received it. Thanks. Sincerely Peter Leyva
Dear Editors, Did my submission get to you gentlemen? Sincerely Peter Leyva
Dear Editors, Should I send you another copy of my submission? I only ask, because most of my day I'm at work, and I don't get home until a little before midnight. Sorry, to be a pest, I understand you too are busy with work. Thank you gentlemen. Sincerely Peter Leyva
Pete, I'll send it to you. I have been sending it to editors@chessvariants.com. I don't believe it has a big attachment, just simple instructions. Sincerely Pete
Pete, I just sent it to you, did you receive it? Peter Leyva
Peter, Thank you, for your time and help. I got my submission to David Howe. Sincerely Pete Leyva
Mike, The king may only take a piece to get out of check, as long as the piece is not being protected by a fellow piece. Otherwise it is checkmate. Sincerely Pete Leyva
Hi David H. , Have you currently had a chance to go over my submission for the 44 square contest. Pete Leyva
Brian, 11 move stale mate, only in the school of hard knocks. Sounds like someone is giving you a lesson in street chess. Ignore it! -Pete
Roberto, I agree new things must fight against very powerful interest. We all know this to be true especially, since we all have created a variant at one time or another. Every time we create a variant,we all hope that our game just might be the one to replace the Fide version. If we continue to unite with one another, like we do on this site. We just might be the group to change chess history.
Jeff Rients, The movement of the pieces in the game of Palace Revolution, don't follow as the game instructions dictate. I was curious, if you weren't to busy, if you could make those corrections. I would like to extend my graditude for your time on my entry. Sincerely Peter E. Leyva
Jeff, Thank you, for your response. I only brought up the situation for the consideration of the other members who test-play Palace Revolution. Peter, thank you for your insight. I was alittle concern about the use of the Squire pawn and how other members would be able to utilize the piece. Both of you gentlemen have been very supportive on this issue. Thx. -Pete Leyva
Interesting layout for a chess game. The originalilty of the pieces I have to question, they're to close to my pieces in 'Palace Revolution' (Templar knight & Squire pawn). Well , what can I say if my pieces inspired your pieces, thats great! After all their moves are different from my piece movement. -Pete
Also, a pawn can capture by rule of enpassant on its' first move.
Thx Mike, I'm giving out bad advice. My appologies for the inconvience of wrong instructions on the pawn play. Pete
Hi Fergus, In my match against Marc Wakeman (fisher random chess) i'm not allowed to send back my reply to him. It keeps stating i have to refresh my browser,in which i do, and there is still no solution. I've tried two different browsers and the same results. I thought ,maybe the adjustments you made might be the problem. In my other games, that i'm currently playing there aren't any problems. -Pete Leyva
Thank you, George for the contructive criticism of Field chess. I did like the the concept of the 8 archer-pawns to a side and shortening the board to 8x10 grid. It seemed to give the game of chess just a slight change of pace, which is what some people are looking for in this new era. Unfortunately, my late co-inventor and I were in disagreement over that matter. So, we settle on what you just critiqued. Perhaps, I'll submit a varinat of field chess in that fashion and see how our peers might respond to it. Sincerely Pete Leyva
Good job Adrian! This is a very nice addition to the chess variants. What do you think of the variant Palace Revolution? I would like to hear your feed on it. As for this game/I look forward to playing a game. Perhaps, I might play one with yourself. Sincerely Pete
