Muchas gracias por su ayuda. I´m an English teacher. I teach English as a second language in Caracas, Venezuela. This is a wonderful site for kids... your 'simple part' is the best of it! Excelente manera de ingresar al juego para aquellos que no sabemos nada de él! ojalá pueda trabajar con mis alumnos de preescolar... GRACIAS! Keep going!!
This site is very helpful it provides good and useful information
and has helped me and now i know more about chess rules its not poor but
its not excellent the infomation is good but they could put more colour
into the front page to make it more inviting but this page is good
x....x... thankyou! ...x....x
Hey, Fergus, didn't someone (heh-heh) suggest maybe putting some more color on the front page a while back? Like maybe a few rows of the prettiest boards, maybe strung around the intro like nautical signal flags, possibly including a random selection of interesting icons?
Maybe, but the front page isn't part of my purview here.
Thanks! This is a great web site. I'll be teaching chess to 4th and 5th graders this year and I plan on having them go through your web site to reinforce the rules of the game. Your instructions and graphics are clear and easy to read.
Oh MAGIC!!!! Thanks for putting this up...at last I can let my two children run riot and learn from this site!! THANKS a lot!
Outstanding and comprehensive website. I've always heard chess was a hard game to learn, don't bother with it because it's too hard. Well, you've proven them all wrong and I thank you for doing so. I have always wanted to learn the game. I did through you and my son getting me started with it. I love it and thank you so very much for taking the time and effort of your work to put it on the internet. It's awesome! Sincerely, Patty
Excellent site to help any beginner to understand in Leymans terms. Thank You.
This and the rest of the site answered my questions as a rusty adult looking to help in a chess club. I could remember more than I thought but was not confident when challenged. Now I have evidence!
This page reminded me how important about Chess instruction was to my own education from the K thru University Level.
I really enjoyed reading your how to play chess tutorial for children. Very concise and clear.
It has encourage me to add some chess instruction to my own education pages and network. Nice visual diagrams.

This was clear, simply stated and illustrated, and I can't wait to show it to some of our students who have been trying to learn how to play. I think you did a great job.
I am trying to learn the game. I just wish the automated game could be stopped so I could guess the move then continue or slow it down some. Other wise I am learning much!
I am just a parent of a 12 year old boy who expressed an interest in learning how to play chess. I was never taught how myself and felt a bit embarrassed about it. I found this website and I must say I was surprised to find out how excited I was to play once I went through the steps. It was set up in such a way, it just made it so easy to understand. I copied off the whole thing so I could go back to it as a reference as I taught my son as well. We have been practicing ever since...and even though we are far from being masters, I can honestly say we both look forward to playing this wonderful game. If it wasn't for your visual and interactive way of presenting the rules of Chess, I would have given up on the whole thing. I'm not a member of your organization, but I just wanted to let you know it is because of this website that we have become avid players of chess.
It is excellent how much you visually encompass the pieces' movement, and speak as if to a child. I would recommend to all whom would enjoy in the education of Chess, nay children exclusive.
''As you well know, Mr. President, railroad carriages are pulled at the enormous speed of 15 mph, by engines. The Almighty never intended that people should travel at such breakneck speed.'' --future USA President Martin van Buren as governor of New York to President Andrew Jackson What other human cultural activity was invented in the Dark Ages and destined to stay the same? Actually PastChess64 was invented in the 1480s, late mediaeval. But is it stuck there? Proponents think as though PastChess64 and the Internet are perfect fit, or even that the former was invented alongside the latter 15 or 20 years ago. What's the truth? Namely, when they started Mad Queen/&Bishop, neither William Shakespeare nor Elizabeth I were yet born. Isaac Newton was born 150 years afterwards. How archaic can you get? 525 years is a chunk of human history, but it's not deep time, geological, biological, astronomical, measured in tens of millions. The railroad dealie above came over 300 years after the first O.T.B. OrthoChess64 in Italy. In 1480-1500 there were no Protestants yet only Catholics. The Earth was flat to many or most Europeans still. Anyone would expect but that PastChess (our alternate name with full respect for its antiquity) should have been overtaken by now in so fluid a medium (many rules-sets).
these r really great instructions easy to understand !!!!!!!!!!
WONDERFULLY SIMPLE!!! Easy to navigate and access.
