Great Game

Hi Hans,

I just started a Wiki page on cheskers, based on you material here. Have a look and join in editing it. I think this would be a great chance to raise the profile of the game.

BTW we are using it in a programming course: http://www.tcs.informatik.uni-muenchen.de/lehre/SS09/Fun/

Let me know what you think!

Sorry about the wrong post.

The description of the camel should probably be its own paragraph like the other pieces are, and it should be boldfaced like the other pieces are.

Thanks A. Black for this call-up a rather early CV era year 1948. The inventor is interesting, mathematician Solomon Golomb, not to be confused with OrthoChessist columnist Harry Golombek, who compiled chess encyclopedia.

I had not realized that the inventor of this variant is a mathematician. Interestingly, he is also the inventor of polyominoes (of which Tetris pieces are a special case).

The fact that you can promote to King (rather than 'Commoner') suggests that there is no distinction between Kings obtained through promotion and primordial Kings. But this makes the winning condition improperly formulated; it should specify you win after capturing all the opponent's Kings. Not just BOTH.
