Why are there two Knights and only one Bishop rather than the other way round, which would (1) give every cell access by every type of piece, and (2) compensate in numbers for the Bishop's reduced power on a 4-file board? It cannot be to prevent Bishops having too strong an opening position, as another variant on a board of this shape has them on the front rank. In any case, there are Pawns in your variant, so you could always fill the front rank with those.
