Is this a viable game? Or if both players play properly, will games never come to a decision? I've played and enjoyed Benedict Chess which apparently favors White. But this Cleopatra Chess has seemed to go in circles except for a decisive error on the part of my opponent. Anyone have experience with Cleopatra Chess?
I played this game with a human opponent as well as against the computer. I find it to be excellent for fun, probably not perfectly balanced but what game is perfectly balanced, after all? However, sometimes the game gets stucked: it is possible to block both Cleopatras in such a way no one can win. I suggest the following change to the rules: if for N moves no piece is flipped, the game is drawn. This rule is alike of Chess rule about no pawn move in 50 moves. For Cleopatra chess I think 50 is too much. 10 or 20 should be a good idea.
This looks like a good idea but I am not so sure of its practicality. The board might end up very crowded and we need to see a game simulation before deciding on its "greatness".
The 4 stars are only for the name. I like the idea of using Cleopatra as a seducing piece.
I had this idea of making pieces switch sides for a long time, but I always thought that the person in charge of finances could do this job, which is more realistic.
