This is a clever way to subvert the concept that one side is 'attacking' anbd the other 'defending', as in this game each side will have its attacks and defences. One addition to make the game even more in keeping with the Revolution would be for Pawn promotion to be to Ace - a piece combining Rook, Bishop, AND Knight moves, as in Cardmate. This would reflect that it was the French Revolution that made the Ace in cards the highest in its suit, to mark the victory of the common man.
Other CVs with Pawns far advanced from anything like usual array positions are Patt-Schach, Upside-Down and Passed Pawns. French Revolution is a two-move game. How are we assured the play will end in at most 24 turns? Because two legs are required.
Nice CV from Netherlands, Gilman and myself have both praised before. Themed too because of advanced pawns and French Revolution name. Every possible Pawn move reaches and does not exceed 24. Since both legs are required, the game ends in at most 24 turns.
Again, sort of the opposite of what Claudio Martins Jaguaribe means.
Another advanced pawn starting formation.
