only one small complaint: if the king exchanges places w/ the seer on the opposite square color, then for the rest of the game you will have 2 seers on the same color squares! Since they are colorbound pieces, this seems like a problem. perhaps the solution is to only allow the king exchange w/ the same(sqare)-colored seer--then both seers stay on opposite tracks. Perhaps another solution would be to allow one of the seers to move 1 square orthogonally next time one of them moves--if both have ended up on the same color. The game looks interesting! :)
Fergus,
I'm trying to edit this preset, but for some reason it won't work. If I select "Customize", that works, but if I select "Edit", it just shows me orthodox chess. Any idea what's going on here?
There is no settings file for the game. The setup has been handled entirely in the preset. So that the customization that someone happens to be using does not overwrite a settings file, a settings file is always loaded without any customizations when you're editing it. When there is no settings file, the default settings are used, and these are for Chess. I suppose I could make an exception to this rule when there is no settings file to overwrite. This would make it easier to convert games stored as presets to settings files.
Instead of making an exception, I deleted the non-existent settings name from the preset. You can now edit it and create a new settings file for the game.
