I have this huge book of chess problems by Polgar, but it is so big, it's
inconvenient to take it down and use it. Since I have an ereader, I
realized I could use it view chess problems in PDF files. So I did some
searching and found some good resources.

Here is a collection of mate-in-ones, targeted at kids. It should be the
easiest one to begin with:

Here are a few mate-in-two problems from the same source:

Here are pages linking to old chess problem collections now in the public
domain:

Here's what looks to be an even easier collection of mate-in-one
problems:

You can also use Mobipocket Creator to convert the pdf to a Mobi book,
readable in Mobipocket Reader (also for Windows) and Kindle. This means
that one can insert comments, etc. Mobipocket is discontinued, but their
site is still up, containing hundreds of free ebooks, also Lasker's book
on chess strategy, etc.

Are they available in DVI? (If not, anyone (even myself) could use my TeX
Chess program to produce them easily) (I dislike PDF format)

Since my ereader will not support DVI or Mobi, these are matters I have not looked into.
