Locusts

This is a rules file for Zillions of Games, a Windows program that will let you play any puzzle or strategy board game you can feed it the rules to. With Zillions-of-Games installed, this rules file will let you play this game against your computer.

1. Players alternate move one of their own pieces a move. 2. King leaps to any empty square, but not edge squares, leaving behind a friendly Locust on original square. 3. Locust slides any number of spaces along any line (like a Queen) until it encounters an enemy piece. It hops over this piece, capturing it in the process, and lands immediately on a vacant square on the other side. If the square beyond is occupied or if is no enemy piece to capture the Locust may not make that move. Locust always leaves behind a friendly Leo on original square. 4. Leo moves like Queen, by sliding any number of squares along a row, column or diagonal, but it can capture an enemy only if there is another piece (of either side) in between. Thus to capture they leap over the intervening piece and land on the enemy piece. If capturing, it will become a Locust. 5. The object of the game is to checkmate or stalemate Opponent's King.
