HI, I'm not sure if its been done already, but i created a version of
chess that involves Hexagons and triangles. I've read some of the things
about the RectaHex Chess or something like that and no offence, but it is
way to compicated to have any general appeal. It may attract nerds who
are
have to much time, but not your regular person. (by the way i am a nerd
with too much time so i know.) My version has only Two colors: good ol'
Black and White. The 'Squares' are triangles, the board is the Hexagon.
It has your normal worthless King. the Super do-it-all Queen. Four
bishops
who are called Black Mages(2) and White Mages(2) each on corresponding
colors. The Knight has no set L, but can turn any way while moving Two
sectors. The Sentry(rook) goes 'across' the triangles and moves along
the diamonds that the triangles form (a bit confusing till you see it).
Pawns are soldiers, they can move side to side and forward only. They can
only attack enemies on their present color. New Character: The Priest- it
can replace enemy soldiers with a dead soldier of your own. Only if you
have a dead soldier. The priest has to be adjacent to the enemy soldier
and does not move, it just 'Converts' the soldier(its a priest you see)
taking your turn. The Board has Five triangles (flat edges) along each
side. The Edge sectors on one side are black, the other white. so things
aren't always mirror image. different tactics will probably arise from
these differences. If anyone has any questions, advice, ecouragement,
whatever: e-mail me at Iamweak@mfx.net . Thank you.
