You've added a 'Lion' piece to the SymChess setup. Exactly what is the
power of this piece?

I mean there are so many interpretations . . .

Lion in this game it is a Cannon, I could`n find in Alfair historiacal pieces, something similar. I will try change leo to Cannon.Yours Demon setup is very powerful and against this powerfull setup I put little strengthened setup of Symchess. I think this battle will be very interesting. From one side great force from another some strange pieces (Cannons). But I think common result will be not good for Black.

Hmmm. Now the forces are practically equal with Amazon and Queens VS Queen
and Warmachines.

What exactly is the power of these Warmachines?

It is the Cannon. In alfaire pieces unfortunately I cudn`t find piece similar to Cannon. But I think Queen + Amazon > 2 Cannons. War machine = Cannon from Xianqi. But anyway it will be very interesting to test both variants. I tested Yours Demon game I played several games. I have questiont to you if You will change places Knights and Bishops? In this case, knight will have good mobility. It was problem for me when I played Demon game.

Yes, the standard Demon game has all the leapers on the back row. This was
entirely intentional to prevent the early use of leapers in a rather
leaper-heavy game. In other words, with this set-up, the players will need
to make a few developing moves.

And this also slows down the use of the 'castling' move, since another
piece must be moved before this privilege can be exercised.

But I also have noted(at the bottom of the Demon Game webpage) that
Knights can be moved forward one rank at setup if the players want that
particular form of play.

And it would be a mistake to think that early occupation of the central
cells of the field would be advantageous. Those two Queens are similar to
Free Kings in some Shogi variants, creating a lot of pressure on the
central files. After a series of violent exchanges, you could simply end
up with a really big hole in the center of your defenses. It may be best
to simply threaten the central cells of the field, concentrating the
efforts on the flanks.

But I would not advocate exchanging the positions of the Knights and
Bishops. The initial position of the Bishop is to support Pawn structure
development and take advantage of the powers of the Cardinals and Queens.

Very good.I think Yours Demon (with full setup of pieces and all combinations of the pieces)most optimal setup. If it will be compare for example with Alekhine Chess, for me was much easer play yours variant.

Alekhine Chess has a different dynamic. Beside being a 14x8 playing field, all its leapers have immediate access the field. This is not necessarily a bad thing. It does create the potential of very powerful pieces making up the opening moves. Once one player introduces one of these leapers, it almost becomes mandatory that the opponent respond in kind. I recognized this in Octa-Asthapada, a 3D Chess game with lots of really powerful leapers. These fairly dominated the entire first half of the game. Each leaper in the Demon Game will take at least one developing move before it can access the central field. Creating the dynamic that these leapers are developed slowly during the game. Now Pawn structure can form the majority of opening moves.
