Avalanche is a very good game, fun and deep in the same time. It is played a lot, but I am surprised that it has not raised interest amongst problem composers. <p>The 'self-mate' rule is somewhat illogical (losing when being forced to self-check oneself with a pawn push), because this situation is in fact a stalemate. Either stalemate should always be a win, either it should always be a draw.
