Time to rain on your parade :-) Back on 2006-01-05, Fergus Duniho and I commented on Michael Howe's Nova Chess 100 page that his Lioness (your DestroyerQueen) was just too powerful. As I said there, a (nonroyal) King + Cannon + Vao piece seems more reasonable - also that would be consistent with your CannonKing and VaoKing pieces. You always have the option of including multiple versions of a game in your ZRF.

oh yes i agree, 'zhouxia' is crap, the destroyerqueen is way too powerful. it is way too powerful, cause it plays against much weaker pieces. i think i have come a long way since then. still, it is all relative, the pieces i made in 'fallingsnow' make the 'destroyerqueen' look like a walk in the park, but i think 'snow' works, because of the super defence given by all the generals, and mainly, because basically all the pieces are very powerful, therefore no piece is way too strong over the others in that game. i don't think that some piece is just too powerful, period. it is not a 'black and white' thing, it depends on other pieces, and the way the game is constructed. i must admit though, i now have a passion for much weaker pieces.

take for instance, the 'missile' in 'american chess'. now this is a
superpowerful piece, able to go to every square on the board, except the
final rank. also it is much more powerful than all the other pieces.
and yet, it is not too powerful for the game.
it is the construction of the game ALONE, that not only makes it playable,
but actually makes it enhance the game ... amazing.

maybe i was a bit 'full on' saying this game is crap, he he, i just
looked back at it, and there are many powerful pieces besides
'destroyer', but too many for my liking. i do think in this game,
'destroyer' is too powerful, but i wouldn't say in all games it would
be.
don't get me wrong, i do think over-all this game is bad :)
i did not know Michael had done this piece before, i couldn't find it
anywhere, so for interest, to see it play, i used this piece, along with
the bishop hook-mover, which i also could not see done.

Capricorn was used in shogi variants as well as normal Capricorn: it's name was Long-nosed goblin.
