French Revolution Chess
No save/back keys for this applet yet.
Hans Bodlaender's invention. During the French Revolution, the nobility (pieces) were no longer protected by their servants (pawns). Instead, they were endangered by them.
You cannot take a pawn on the fourth or fifth tanks. Each side must move first a piece and then a pawn each turn. Stalemate is a draw.
These are simple illustrations rather than strong opponents.
