Mapped Chess
This page contains one or more presets for playing a game online with Game Courier, an online server for playing Chess variants by correspondence.
Extended 3D moves of usual pieces, mapped on 2 boards
Rooks get additional 3D triagonal moves that map to alternate diagonal moves
Bishops get additional 3D diagonal moves that map to alternate orthogonal moves
Knights get additional 3D lateral jumps that map to orthogonal steps on current board, and orthogonal jumps on other board
Queens are a combinaison of Rook and Bishop
Pawns gets 2 additional diagonal jumps at start on current board, 1 front capture step on other board; they keep en-passant and promotion, and are blocked by any facing ennemy.
Kings have potentially 9 additional positions on the other board.
