Mortal Shogi Presets for Game Courier
Mortal Shogi is played mainly like Shogi, but pieces demote when captured, and Pawns, having nothing lower to demote to, are removed from the game when captured. This loss of Pawns and the tendency for pieces to demote into Pawns introduces mortality into Shogi, a game in which pieces are normally immortals who simply change sides. You can play this game using a variety of different boards, pieces, and rendering methods, mixing and matching them as you please. For your convenience, some preselected combinations are provided below. Click on a button with a rendering method on it to use it for playing the game with the board/piece combination shown above it.
