The base is a board with 17 ranks and 21 files. In Rombus form, there are 213 playable squares. Each player has 40 pieces.

Setup

Pieces

Standard set of pieces - plus additional pieces. Details in the rule section.

Rules

There is no capturing en passant and no castling. Promotion of pawns takes place.
Bare king loses.
Stalemate is a win.

Pieces

The Pawn (R-Chess) moves as follows:

The pawn moves one, two or three squares forward and captures opposing pieces. Diagonally, the pawn can move one square forward without capturing. It does not jump over pieces.

 

The archbishop is a hybrid piece of knight and bishop.
 

 

The chancellor is a hybrid piece of knight and rook.

 

The amazon is a hybrid piece of knight and queen.

 

The cardinalrider is a hybrid piece of knightrider and bishop.
(The knightrider can perform the move of a knight once or several times in sequence. A piece on a target square cannot be jumped over.)



The amazonrider is a hybrid piece of knightrider and queen:

 

The king can move to an adjoining square.
