it's quite intuitive
We can add this file easily. If you want to split, it is possible.
I'd like to point out that I've made a jocly implementation of Seireigi shogi for my own use and also to better understand the "drop model" made by HG Muller in his shogi for jocly.
I hope it conforms to the rules. Note, however, that there's undoubtedly still a lot of room for improvement, particularly as regards kanji graphics.
Player B's Heavenly Horse move should be fixed now.
Promotion improvements still to be made...
Now the pieces that get dropped into the promotion zone should no longer be able to promote.
Some pieces are unpublished yet, the cerberus for example. Is it for personnal use?
For integration on the chessvariant site, it's probably best to wait until the work on integrating shogis into jocly has progressed. HG Muller will be able to do it easily, but it may be a bit early for us since it might change.
Otherwise, for hosting on a personnal site, the following zip contains everything you need
It could be further improved by setting a relative value to the pieces.
I also have a draft of kyoto shogi available on my home page.
I don't yet know whether it complies perfectly with the rules. It's also based on the shogi model currently being integrated into jocly.
I've lifted the restrictions on lance and horse. It should be better now.
At the moment the Kyoto Shogi is in reserve on my github shogivars branch.
I don't think I'll be able to add the evaluation function on my own. If you have the time, the inclination and if you think this variant could be of interest to jocly, help would be welcome to finalize it.
By the way is there a Pawn Limit > 1 on a column for this variant?
There's everything in the model eventually to set the number of pawn per column.
The rule should be OK now. Thanks for the tests.
Regarding the evaluation function, the suggestion was for HGM, which seems to have a great deal of experience in programming shogis.
This has now been corrected.
Thanks for your vigilance.
These skins are a proposal to that purpose.
The first step would be to fix the visuals for chu shogi (lateral mover as in minjiku?, tiger ...).
Then we could add skins according to usage: western, mnemonic...
It is made of png (100x100px).
For tori I made tries but it wasn't good enough.
It seems there's something to be worked out on the model of chu shogi. I tried to reproduce it from this position.
If we force the AI to play by switching to self/self then self/computer, I get "geometry is not defined".
I'm perfecting the timurid prelude a bit :
I'm trying the caliph as a new central piece in timurid in addition of the queen or the lion (we do not use the piece yet in jocly).
I called it Sultan playing KC to avoid it being linked to a color like the original caliph.
Would you have a better idea for the move for this situation?
I don't know if you have time to work on jocly at the moment, for my part I was looking at how chu shogi works.
I was wondering:
Would it be possible to combine the fairy move model with the drop model to make locust captures on shogis with drops?
For example, could the lion, falcon and eagle locust move from chu seireigi work with jocly?
Interesting, I see also that there is a sultan that play FNC.
Thank you for the pertinent reference.
Joclymatch :
Jerôme has updated his joclymatch page with the latest jocly release. It's a handy page that lets you see the rules in the language of your choice and play human against human.
I'm going to send him Seireigi shogi, Kyoto shogi and Tumurid chessvariant and some missing translations. I didn't dare send the others variants for which I proposed a translation without knowing if you'd be interested - I'm thinking in particular of minjiku, werewolf, spartan, shogi and mini shogi. Let me know if you'd like me to send them too.
Yes, I'm going to send him my complete compiled shogivar branch, which I'm trying to keep close to our pull request, just commenting in index.js on the games we've yet to complete, such as Team-Mate Chess: Scirocoo, chu shogi, ...
He'll have the choice of using the new dist directory, adding to his own or linking to the old and new ones.
I share the dist in case you want to add a 2nd jocly in chessvariant to link to minjiku or werewolf ... fom the play jocly page more easily.
Jerome started trying to integrate new variants (OK gigachessII, KO pemba : with message "JocGame.LetsTwist is not a function" in ZobristInit)
Due to lack of time, he finally preferred to open the joclymatch (Sources - Doc).
Therefore He lets us set it up on our own.
I started trying to use it. It's handy for browsing and consulting rules. There's still a hard problem to fix on the create match. I'll have to look into it.
Does this mean that we have to add modifications from src/core/jocly.game.js to src/browser/*.js?
His code use dist/browser/jocly.js. This part is not clear for me yet.
it seems to work : https://biscandine.fr/variantes/joclymatch/
Does anyone know how to run chessV under linux ?
mono ./ChessV.exe
results in "Directory of piece set graphics could not be found"
I've taken your suggestions into account to improve the rules.
Note that I finally retained the name of Emir for the piece playing FNC, it fits well with the timurid theme and has a name generic enough to be stand next to a king.
