I still have 8 unpublished rules pages in the queue, from back then. I have ideas for 28 more submissions, but first I'm waiting to see how long the process takes these days, and also it may be best to first concentrate on satisfying any wishes editor(s) may wish for any of those 8 still in the queue at present.
If I’ll say how many ideas I have, you’ll be overwhelmed. At least 25 or 30.
OK, I understand. I won’t say my age but can tell that I’m also kinda free. Yes, two months are quite normal — my Fluidity page waits almost 1.5 years (though it was once remade in-between).
Yes, two months is the average right now. Fergus, Ben, and the others all have a lot on their plate. Unlike my own disabled/retired self, they have day jobs (and, I think I can safely assume, families), on top of other duties here on the site. I recognize that, and give them as much grace as I can with it, even though I'm eager to get going on more new creations.

If I imagined being an editor (don't worry!), I would become very thoughtful. It's certainly not an easy job - but it's all a question of organization.

It's not about criticizing. But authors would like to keep going - and unfortunately they are constantly being held back. I don't find that very conducive.
In at least one case, I noticed someone else's submission took 2 months to be approved - not counting ones lingering from a few years back still unpublished (possibly the authors stopped visiting the site) - some of those get deleted by editor(s) sometimes after years pass.
Two months does seem to be the norm currently. That gives me hope that at least Food Fight and Snake vs. Mongoose will be published soon (though the latter does also still need a change in the Index description). I'd be especially happy if the Icon Clearinghouse series (including parts 2, 3, 4, and 5) could be published; Part One went up in October, but Part Five went up in December and wasn't finished until just this month, so I'm not sure how long that one will take.
(Rotary Chess and Dragon Wars are also ready AFAICT, but I'm not going to start stressing out over them for another month or so.)
I'd really love to start publishing GC presents for all of these, and more....

I've been a member at this site since 2015 (maybe such a start date belongs on a person's Personal Information page), and I have experience making submissions, though some slight changes to the process were made some years back. I'm rusty though, and may have omitted something else in my latest submissions' editing process to date.

As far as I can tell, Fergus and Ben are the only active editors that may handle submissions, and Fergus is especially busy being the webmaster. Dr. Muller specializes in other things, though he [only] comments on submissions sometimes. The only other listed editor I know of that could become active again anytime soon is Greg Strong. I emailed him recently on unrelated matters (that is, to see how he was doing), and he may be back to regularly visiting this website again, after a while.
My latest 'suggestion' is more of a comment about the site, as I would call it (I can go for a long time without making any such comments). It is related to the Diagram Designer, and I have no idea whether it can lead to any change to the way that Tool works, or to the current policy about how it should be used.

How do you actually do that? You publish a series of suggestions. Do you have an unlimited number of them?
I'm crawling here with 6 of them, waiting for an editor to release one of my suggestions so that I can add more variants to the queue for publication.

Usually, in Shogi games, people just use +<unpromoted form> for the promoted form of a piece, but this works, as long as there is a clear link between the promoted and unpromoted forms of a piece.
