Faceoff Chess
Suddenly created chess variant, may be installed on Lichess (big free adless chess site with tens of thousands moves per second, which is mentioned in some my variants).
Setup & pieces are standard.
Rules
Kings can't be in one orthogonal or diagonal line without pieces between them (face each other).
All other rules are as in FIDE. Your aim is to checkmate.
So king vs king + 2 knights position is not draw.
Notes
Or there is a variation where kings can't move into board's corners.
